Star Ocean: Second Evolution (2008/2009) Playthrough (PSP)
2Ok folks, here is the first remake of Star Ocean 2 (aka: Star Ocean: The Second Story) on the Playstation Portable released in late 2008 in Japan and sometime in 2009 in North America and Europe. I picked up my copy from eBay along with a DVD copy of Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok by ADV Films back in July 2023 and my Steam Deck as well. The graphics are identical to the PS1 original, but have been enhanced in widescreen (which was obvious). Same stuff as before, not that I have an issue with that though. This game also has some anime FMV cutscenes that weren't featured in the PS1 original. This time, I played as Rena Lanford, which I named her Amanda, while I named Claude C. Kenny, Bart, in my first save file. I made it as far as the dungeon stage. Also, I was confused where Claude was somewhere in the middle of this playthrough. I eventually figured it out though. I do here there is another remake that came out on November 2nd, 2023 on the Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Nintendo Switch and Steam called: Star Ocean: The Second Story R. I happen to own a copy on my PS5 by the way. It doesn't matter what you check out though, personally, I think you should check out all versions of Star Ocean 2. 'Nuff said. Also, my first playthrough of 2024!
