Supraland Six Inches Under - JokesOnYouISuck's Review & Gameplay [Gamepass]
Supraland-Six-Inches-Under, a First-Person-Metroidvania, dives headfirst into exploration, platforming, puzzles, and upgrades to offer an engaging experience. This installment, more of a stand-alone expansion than a full-blown sequel, tweaks the formula with a heightened emphasis on exploration and puzzle-solving, and eases off the less fulfilling combat elements.
While it doesn't introduce a truckload of new mechanics, it’s hard to argue against the "more of the same" approach when "the same" is already pretty darn good. The world design is as captivating as ever, and the puzzles and platforming, though occasionally headache-inducing, remain inventive and satisfying to conquer.
Still, there are frustrations – the moments when you're stuck scanning every nook and cranny, the backtracking that sometimes feels like a marathon, and those precarious jumps that lead to far too many retries. Jumping, at times, is slippy, difficult to judge, and feels as reliable as a coin flip.
In the grand scheme of things, Supraland-Six-Inches-Under is a solid sequel that manages to retain the charm of its predecessor while gently pushing the formula forward. With around 9 hours to wrap up the main story, it doesn't overstay its welcome, offering a decent dose of gaming satisfaction without wearing out its welcome. While it might not eclipse the impact of the original, it's still a commendable dive into the Supraland universe for those who are already fans or looking to explore a quirky and challenging platformer.
Overall, I give this game 77 percent.
