Taking My Channel Back.
41This is a hard video to make, but it's time to talk. I've had something on my mind for a while and recently I took some time away to come to a decision. I hope those of you who enjoy my content will be happy with what I'm about to do, but I know it's different than the norm.
I say this in the video, but I don't want to make content for content's sake. I want to make it because I'm enjoying what I do. So you'll still see videos from me, but I've hit a breaking point and I need to make a change.
This is kind of a mix between a channel update, life story, and advice I have if you want to become a full time youtuber. I think there are some lessons that can be learned from my "journey" (for lack of a word that doesn't sound pretentious). You need a certain kind of mindset and dedication to be able to make it here and I don't think that's ever really been me.
I like this an outlet for me to be creative and to help people, but that's always what made it fun and worth it for me. I've learned a lot this past year and I don't think this is necessarily a result of youtuber burnout (although I did deal with that in the middle of last year), but more about finding the reason why I make videos.
I didn't talk about it here, but I've been doing my passion project videos on the side and those fill me with such joy compared to other vids and, if this is really my channel, then I should be making content for myself, not for others.
All of this to say - is being a youtuber worth it? It depends on what makes you happy. You gotta do what's best for you.
