I think at around the forty minutes I said developer but meant publisher and I might have confused the two but my point was that beenox has done better but because of the time frame of activision publishing the game they didn’t put much into the combat

Criticisms about the game:

I'm gonna be honest I was excited for this game and was super disappointed when it released on Ps3 for $60 for a buggy, short, and barely playable game
The game is short with only 14 story missions which is shorter than Spider-man by Neversoft on PS1 and also shorter than the Spider-man movie game on console and the game boy advance.

The Hero Menace meter is a mechanic that is poorly executed when Web of Shadows did it better because they did it by suit so there was a combat tree based off of which suit you wore and not only does it make the game unplayable but it forces you to do missions in game with a map full of collectables that you have no time to explore and buildings that are reused and hardly distinguishable because you have to do missions so that oscorp does not attack which is hard to maintain because every mission randomly spawns with a count down timer. If you have more than one mission expiring the meter goes down meaning that even if you do a mission to get the meter to go up another mission can expire which will make the meter go down which is bad because if the meter reaches the red or menace side Oscorp will send out drones and things to attack you in the city. This forces you to do missions when its impossible because for every mission you don't do or fail the meter goes down even while doing missions to get the meter up the meter will inevitably go down for Oscorp to attack you.
You have to watch cutscenes that can't be skipped every time you complete or fail a mission and its the same few cutscenes.

Web swinging is awful because the pendulum motion of the swing is always in motion so you can't stay still on a webline even though there's code for for Spiderman to hang upside down on the webline when he can stay still.
More importantly let’s talk physics of a pendulum.
Mystic physics babble : The weight attached to the end of any pendulum has no effect on swing speed because gravity has the same amount of force on every object.

When you shoot a web line it feels off because the length of the string starts out with this small period of a dip and then a period of a full swing and the difference is that in other Spider-Man games, with real web swinging mechanics, they allow you to change elevations of web swinging by the changing the period and length of web lines at different elevations. It’s because when you swing at a higher elevation between high rise buildings, the period of that pendulum is longer than swinging at a lower elevation where you would be swinging more frequently with a shorter pendulum period, which in turn, actually has an effect on swing speed because if the length of the string increased it indicates a slower swing speed.
Here in TASM2 it feels bad because you actually can’t control the length of your web swinging making it feel automated and forcing the same momentum on each swing with no regard to elevation.
Also the trigger switching on web swinging always tends to miss because the field of view is zoomed in making it harder to know what the range is of Spider-Man’s web lines.
The field of view is bad and the camera is worse.

The default option for objects on the mini map is rotating in stead of static locations and since the swinging is always in motion you might end up passing or doing another mission cause of the meter and the map is default rotating everything around you and if you set a marker and you do a mission, after the mission the marker disappears.
The combat is so boring and dull that it feels like a crappy version of Arkham and no variety except for a shocker blast that doesn't fit in at all when other older Spider-man games were better with combat and every hit you land adds a cinematic shaky cam motion on top of screen tearing and you can only do a finishing move on the last enemy you fight.
The models look awful and unfinished and the night time sky is almost unplayable and the screen tearing is in abundance.
The only way to change from day to night is by going to your apartment and then switch the suit you wear with a different one and then go back to the city and nothing in the game indicates that to you.
I'm sorry but this game was bad and even though its my opinion others would agree.
Most of the blame should go to Activision because they were pressuring Beenox to put out yearly releases for Spider-man. Activision did not care clearly about the quality of the game and the developer shouldn't be punished, and if anyone should be, its the publisher Activision giving the deadlines and forcing crunch because it would be easier to blame it on developers to dismantle their studios when the publisher only cares about the money they make off the games.
