Review of XCOM 2, a turn-based tactics game developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games. XCOM 2 is the sequel to 2012's reboot of the series, XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

Taking place 20 years after the events of Enemy Unknown, XCOM is now organizing a resistance against the ADVENT alien overlords that now control the human civilization.

By reworking many of the gameplay elements, while retaining much of the consolized, streamlined mechanics, and releasing the game as a PC exclusive, how will it affect the XCOM 2 sales numbers and how will it perform in the video game market?

The Initiative is a review and analysis series on newly-released PC games. The series will show my first impressions of the gameplay and features at face value, and analyze its longevity in the market and community.
