I tackle the Master Quest version of the Water Temple, which is normally seen to be easier than the original version. You'll be seeing a lot of Stalfos here. You can get three main items in the Temple as soon as you see Ruto. I get the first Small Key below the main tower, and use it fo open a door to the west on the top floor. I have a little trouble figuring out how to get past the waterfall. I face even more Stalfos, then have a little trouble figuring out how to climb a Dragon statue. I then go on to fight Dark Link. The battle is exactly the same, so you should know how to beat him. I decide to go the cheap route and use the Megaton Hammer. The river after is actually easier thanks to the Longshot targets. After finding a Gold Skulltula there, I eventually find the Boss Key.

You can technically go to the boss now, but I venture through the rest of the temple, finding the other two Gold Skulltulas I can obtain. During the search, we see that Dodongos have somehow made it to this temple. At least you can finally bomb them now. There are still two Gold Skulltulas, but you need other items for them. I go on to fight the boss, Morpha, and Ruto realizes that she is the Water Sage. I get the Fire Arrow, get another Gold Skulltula, then quickly head back into the Water Temple to get another Gold Skulltula with them. I leave the temple for the time being and save.
