REVIEW:
This game is based on “The Lost Tapes of Albion” for the ZX Spectrum that was written by Dave Hughes in 2012. While you had to collect cassette tapes in 8 levels in the Spectrum version, you have to collect disks in 48 levels in the SAM version!

You can choose between: Easy, Hard, Wretched, Insane – Those four difficulties all features 12 levels, and when you have selected difficulty, choose the color of your underwear, and off you go!

You have to collect unreleased disks with games for the SAM Coupé, and who should have thought there were so many unreleased games… Typically there is 40 disks on every level, and when you have collected all 40 disks you have completed the level.

Each level consists of a single screen, and when you are standing on one of the many platforms on every level you can either go up or down, and it is also possible to leave the screen in one side for re-entering it again from the other side – if you do this, you will also either come up or down, depending on from what side of the screen you go out.

When starting up at the Easy difficulty the first levels are pretty simple, and a good way to get to know the game. The first enemies you meet are slow and just walking straight out of the way, and you can easily avoid or out maneuver them.

But as you proceed and especially when you enter the levels of a harder difficulty you will find that this game is a good challenge, and that you will need a lot of practice to complete the harder levels. You will meet enemies that runs a lot faster than you, vehicles that fires at you, enemies that changes direction and hunts you, a fast snake, exploding bombs and a lot of other nasty stuff.

This is a huge game with challenges and difficulty that fits everybody. It offers a simple but addictive and quite original gameplay, it plays and looks good, and if you have a SAM Coupé you have to give this game a go!
