Watch this Tunic Game Review in 60s to get the bottom line on the Tunic Videogame. Tunic is a 3rd person action-adventure game, and at first glance you could be forgiven for thinking it’s styling, and colour pallet suggest a simple Zelda rip off. In actuality this couldn’t be further from the truth. Zelda is undoubtably an inspiration, but only in so far as the story elements and aesthetic choices.

I really love the sense of mystery and intrigue this game generates. The game uses a lot of contrasting styles and ideas that create layers of depth, that you just don’t expect at first glance. The challenging combat is offset against the subtle puzzles and secrets. The cutesy art style contradicts the darker subplot to the games setting and story. But instead of curdling like out-of-date milk, these elements mix perfectly, capturing the kind of magic that old school Zelda games pioneered. But it’s not a simple copycat, it creates its own unique take on the genre. I mean how many games can you think of where the narrative is driven by the game’s manual and the puzzles and coded messages hidden within?

I hope this Tunic Game Review in 60s! by Gameplay Casts has helped you decide if this is a game for you! Part of our 60s Game Review playlist, designed to quickly bring you the bottom line of a game.
