This video took me 1,411 hours of documented work across nearly 8 months.. While I had Lyme disease, mind you. I started to write its script in July of 2021 but set it away, deeming it too personal, and that I was not yet healed enough myself to speak about healing in the way I thought I knew I could. I am glad I waited, I am glad I learned, and I am glad that I have healed in ways that I have. It is without saying that I have much more to go, in terms of learning, healing, and knowing, but I wished to express my love for this game and the profound effect it had on me in entirety. This is a deeply personal film, one that I share more than I have ever shared prior, though it is not for empathy or unnecessary grievances.

Everyone fights a battle to 'not go hollow,' and I do not require motivation to keep on fighting any longer. I am healthy, I can do it. Before, I could not, but now, I can. That is the beauty of healing, the beauty of what this world has shown me. If you have words of empathy, offer them to a friend in need, or to a gloom struck stranger, not up to me. Please.

Lastly, I felt terrified of creating a film that was strictly serious. Not only because of the small audience I have accumulated who is here to laugh, but because being open and honest about who you are and what you have been through is by all means the most 'edgy' thing somebody can do. It offends those who are not yet secure enough to open up about their own emotions, not yet open about their own feelings, and I didn't seek out to offend. Also, at the end of the day, I did not want to take this too seriously. No matter how much we paint it as otherwise, Dark Souls is still, at the end of the day, a video game, and I didn't want to take it too too seriously. And thus, I told the tale through Sir Swampwater's PoV. An attempt to appeal to everyone, an attempt to make myself seem less pretentious, and I suppose an attempt to distract from my honest and sincere sentiments.

All in all, I most certainly hope you enjoy. In this day and age, there is nothing I find more fun than entertaining others, whether it is through laughter, tears, or even cringing. And so, if I entertained you by any means, I'm very happy. Thank you for watching.
