We go ahead and get the Life spell, because if I didn't take it, I'd be pretty suicidal to try to go through Death Mountain without that spell.

After getting past Death Mountain, we get the Hammer, the Fairy spell and the almighty downward thrust, which is overpowered, as you'll see me destroy enemies (except I do a bad job of destroying them properly, as you'll see later on...).
