Think old school Resident Evil 1, but with random dungeon lvls, RPG character progression, magic items to find, mysterious serums to drink, or not, items to combine to make new items, and even a 1st person mode to play around in!
Enter into a Mystery Dungeon forged of Procedural Generation and Resident Evil’s lasting influence,
all presented in a PS1 / PSX retro aesthetic!
If you liked Resident Evil, and like RPGs, you’ll likely love this!

With more common sense!
In House of Necrosis, your character can actually drop and pick objects up again, unlike in Resident Evil, where if you drop something, your character apparently impulsively destroys it in a fit of rage!
Even the new Resident Evils still do this!
What is wrong with these characters!?

Also, I like how you can rotate the camera in House of Necrosis, even the pitch of the camera; nice.
Old school Resident Evil was infamous for not allowing that!
Nop! In the old days, you had to blindly aim at what was off screen, and just start firing!
And if you said anything critical about it, the fanboys jumped down your throat about how awesome it was! Sigh.
So, House of Necrosis just feels better to play then the old, yet very dated, influential survival horror great.
It just feels like a Traditional Roguelike RPG with a massive retro Resident Evil influence; it’s good.
Tactical, Not Terrifying
While it is not as cutscene focused as the old great, House of Necrosis offers the time to plan and play out things tactically, as the turn-based nature removes the feeling of being rushed; of blundering a move because the game swapped the camera angle on you, or tried to jump scare you.
House of Necrosis also dials down the Survival horror due to the more tactical focus of the game.
Making it something for those who find Resident Evil / Silent Hill likes a bit too much to play and enjoy.
If that is you, and you like Old school, tactical games with random dungeons, House of Necrosis could be a good fit for you; it’s a good fit for me.
Controller support is present, and feels good, as does numpad movement on keyboard, as there is no current mouse support in game.
Note: This is an early look at the demo for House of Necrosis, so any bugs or other oddness is not representative of the final product.
Still, House of Necrosis is a fun Retro Resident Evil inspired RPG Roguelike with Procedural Generation / Random Dungeons that nails that Survival feel, and is easily worth a wishlist and a watch.
