Reality Break is an Indie, Top Down Action Roguelite ARPG looter shooter in space; think Titan Quest or Grim Dawn, but Sci-Fi with starships, where you take out waves of star fighters and blast apart capital ships all by yourself!
It’s pure power fantasy, in a fun and bright arcade scifi setting.

Approachable Arcade Action:
Reality Break is a very approachable Arcade shooter.
Your default gun has unlimited ammo, drains no energy, and does not have to reload.
You have a default regeneration ability that will completely repair your hull, on a 1minute cooldown, and when you die in a zone, you respawn at the edge of it with all your gear; very generous.
Reality Break is a game that wants you to succeed, and doesn’t put many barriers in the way of said success, making it an excellent choice for new gamers.

The Guns Feel Good:
Reality Break has lots of different guns that feel different from each other, like the starting laser, the faster firing Gatling gun, the super fast like railgun phasor, and the space shotgun scattergun, and they all feel and look good.
All the guns also have a different rider, an effect that they can trigger; gatling guns deal increased damage as they concentrate on a target, lasers can stun, and phasors pierce, fun stuff like that further makes each weapon system feel different.

Additionally, the Alt fire weapons, like the PBAOE Nova, or the energy fueled rocket launcher, feel good and powerful, giving the player a bit of real punch they can unload when the moment is right.
These abilities drain energy, as does the mobility ability your ship gains, but it recovers quickly.

Meta Progression:
You also get Fate Pulses to rewrite reality and increase the power of your meta progression fate core, or increase the rarity and power of a found piece of gear.
After you clear a campaign segment, you fight an optional battle that gains a bonus depending on how long you last, then you break you character, to spend your RP (Reality Stream) points in between runs.
The first one gives the ability to lvl up your character, while the rest are things like increasing hp by 100 per point, up to 5, decrease enemy hp by 5% per point, up to 10, powerful stuff like that.
You can also unlock higher difficulties.
When you reality break, you lose your credits and loot, starting over in a new run with an increased meta progression power lvl.
There are also currently locked unlockable characters with different starting ships, which will likely be unlockable in the full game.

As a Roguelite, Procedural Generation / random maps are present as well, as each time you enter a zone, it will be one with different specific locations and events, and you keep your loot and exp from the last time in the zone, in case you exited the game without clearing the zone; handy if you want to grind.

Controller support is present, as is good old mouse and keyboard.
I found gamepad control alright here, but lacking when compared to the old school precision and grace of a good mouse.

Note: This is an early look at the demo for Reality Break, so any bugs or other oddness is not representative of the final product.
Still, Reality Break is a fast and fun arcade ARPG with cool guns and good loot, and is easily worth a wishlist and a watch.
