0Yeah. I'm deciding to release videos of torturing myself with the worst of classic Doom. Yeah. I think Final Doom sucks. Just because I argue it's canonicity doesn't mean I won't dunk on Final Doom as games. One is bad because its unfair and unbalanced and the other is bad because its ugly and boring. The one I'm playing is a god damn marathon of bullshit flinging at me in every corner of every level with little regard for balance and flow.
A complete rapid fire of cheap shots and when Plutonia doesn't use Archviles, Revevants or Chaingunners, this expansion will find other ways to fuck you over unless you know well in advance on what's gonna happen. But since this is Part 1, I'll say it doesn't start too badly. Map 10 was honestly the first in this part that gave me trouble. Mainly because of the surprise closets. Another thing I hate. Closets inside closets. You might was well do the American Mcgee thing and open a wall hidden behind a fake one and have them teleport in the same spot as the last killed monsters. The final level however was actually decent even with the Cyberdemon fight. I was able to cheese it with hitscan weapons alone.
Also I'll be using GZDoom for my playthrough since I don't respect Final Doom enough to give it the crispy treatment. Maybe if it didn't have a bad chaingunner addiction I'd be more nicer.
