2020 was a strange year. National lockdowns, working from home and the controversial release of Cyberpunk 2077. But now in 2022 after the next gen update, is Cyberpunk finally great? (Cyberpunk 2077 Next Gen Review).

I was the only human in existence who liked Cyberpunk 2077 on launch, but maybe in hindsight I was a little too generous. Because now I see fundamental issues with Cyberpunk, from its RPG systems to its narrative. But like most open world games, Cyberpunk has parts that are good and parts that are bad in equal measure.

Throughout this Cyberpunk 2077 Review, we will look at how the game has changed since the next gen update. We will focus on the open world and compare it to other games in the genre spanning over the last three console generations, and investigate how its RPG systems have changed since launch. I have tried to be as balanced as possible, while ultimately explaining why I think Cyberpunk is great.
