Being part of Arika's "Aquatic" series (Everblue and Forever Blue/Endless Ocean), Everblue 2 was the first game released in North America (Japan and Europe would get the first Everblue game). While Forever Blue is seen as one of the great Wii games, the Everblue series is significantly more obscure. One can view this game as immersive and intriguing, or perhaps more along the lines of repetitive and boring. It is a "Scuba Diving RPG", but it more fits somewhere in the "Adventure" category like its more modern Forever Blue successors.

In this game, you play as Leo, a great diver who's hit hard times since his travels with Zuccho and was once seen as a legendary diver. You're going to re-establish yourself as a great diver with the help of Ellis, an enthusiastic girl versed in oceanography, and the team known as "The Amigos", which you become a member of. The idea is to do a daily routine of searching the ocean floor to take pictures of neat marine life, find items you can salvage for money, take specific jobs for rare items, and use the money to buy more expensive gear to improve your odds underwater and allow you to swim at more turbulent depths. You have a limited item carrying capacity to an extent. You can carry as much as you want (or can carry), but if you exceed your weight limit, you'll gradually lose HP. You'll have access to more features as the game progresses such as building an Aquarium.

The game has little in the ways of action (though being attacked by a Great White Shark is a hoot), but the visuals are nice and the concept is intriguing. The music is good, what music there is anyway. The dialogue is relatively simple and to the point. There isn't a whole lot to say about it, but I think it's an entertaining game worth checking out if you can find it. Enjoy.
