"Expected Weight Ratio" Explanation | How much should a gaming mouse weigh?
Personally I want as low weight as possible, so when ranking mice, I definitely take weight into consideration. That poses a new problem though, how do we know if a mouse is heavy or just big?
This video is to explain a new idea which I call the "Expected Weight Ratio". By multiplying the main dimensions of the mice, the length and grip width, we get how a number that is pretty close to 1 gram per square cm. That will give us the "Expected Weight".
Then we divide the weight by the expected weight and see if it's greater than or less than 1, and that gives us the Expected Weight Ratio.
Here's an example from the video to help you:
Razer Viper Ultimate 12.45cm length x 5.75cm grip width = 71.58
Actually weighs 74g
74 divided by 71.58 = 1.0338 ... rounded to 1.03
1.03:1 ratio, slightly heavier than expected for that size
We've added it to the website so you can easily see what the ratios are for the mice.
You'll find it on the Top Mice page, All Mice and individual Product Pages.
Hope that helps!
