Super Ultrawide (VS Triple Monitors) gaming and content creation | 49" Samsung Odyssey G9
2,143As someone who gets competitive in First Person Shooters but also does a lot of content creation, I've tried a lot of setups. I need multiple monitors. But it's painful to edit videos on a 16:9 screen. I've tried ultrawides, they're pretty good, but I still needed a longer timeline and more room in general. That's why I tried the NVIDIA surround with 3 monitors. It was great, but the bezels eventually got to me, along with compatibility issues, so I looked for an alternative.
Samsung then brought out the G9, with 240Hz and I thought "Ok, that might be the solution". And while it's not perfect and also has compatibility issues, it's a much better experience overall. Definitely worth a look if you're in this line of work or just want an extra cool factor on your gaming experience (with some issues).
Speaking of issues, here's the hot fix driver to get 240Hz working on a 3080 (worked for me): https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5099/~/geforce-hotfix-driver-version-456.98
Update: issues appear resolved with latest drivers.
