Vivi is the best lol. Though seriously, FF9 does well when it performs on current gen like ps5 (abysmal load times before though pc may be OK and mobile may not run). The animations are the best of the ps1 trilogy, even remastered.

I wish I could take off camera pan (there is a skip toggle but it may not work) but I am glad it autosaves as the moogle stays frozen before the boss fight should I go to the 2nd cutscene first (right fork).

There is also an instant learn you can't toggle and steal is the best in the series as I stole a nythril dagger that was stronger than my equipment in this boss fight on the first try (and bandit even enhances the rate as I missed in prior fights).

Sword magic with Steiner and Vivi is cool too, and it takes up Steiner's command only, so it's better than waiting like in chrono trigger, and no Suikoden unbalance.

I like how fresh the characters talk (Black Waltz's last words were funny and he had a nice shirt to steal) and Garnet/Dagger actually wants to be kidnapped because of her bad mom. Steiner fell too (didn't have enough time with short) let alone that cold waddle is funny. Similar to ff8 triple triad, ff9 has a tetra master card game.
