You shouldn't have to rely on the new GPU market to find the cheapest graphics card that will play modern games at ultra settings. Today we're taking a look at AMD's R9 270x, a three year old card that can be purchased for less than $100 or £100 and still has enough grunt to play the newest and most demanding titles at their highest settings with decent frame rates, minus a few of the unnecessary bells and whistles.

Now turning the settings down will always be beneficial and provide you with a smoother gameplay experience, but should you want that extra eye candy once in a while it's nice to know that you don't have to break the bank to get it.

Today's setup includes an i5 4460, 8GB of Ram and of course the AMD Radeon R9 270X. Our gameplay tests include Grand Theft Auto V, Battlefield 1, Fallout 4 and Mafia 3. The gameplay during discussion is Unturned.
