Today we paired a $2 Intel Pentium E5200 with a $200 GTX 1060, to see what sort of performance you could expect if you went all out on a GPU, but had an old CPU in your system. It can be tempting when saving up for new PC components to splash out on a new graphics card as many consider it to be the main and most important component.

Despite the bottleneck, the system actually surprised me and performed better than expected, but we compared the results to that of an i5 4460 just to highlight the mismatch.

Today's test setup included:
Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200 2.5GHz @ 3GHz
8GB DDR3 @ 1066MHz
Asus P5G41T-M LX Motherboard
Zotac GTX 1060 3GB
Intel i5 4460 (For Comparison)

The games tested include:
Dirt Rally
Crysis 3
No Man's Sky
Grand Theft Auto V
Rocket League

Thanks for watching :)
