Some would argue that he's become more popular than Optimus Prime himself. And he's seen his fair share of upgrades. Some of which have included an epic battle mask. And others would be his hammer. But there are some things that are randomly given to him with no logic or explanation. 1 of them being his magnetic ability. Where he can disassemble and pull himself back together. And it was never really explained when and how he was able to perform this technique. But there are a few clues in the movie that can exlain it. 1 of them is Cade Yaeger, who has a knack for tinkering with Transformers technology. Another would be Daytrader which is a character that salvages various Cybetronian items. Chances are he found the magnetic device and Cade implanted it in Bumblebee.
