2After sharing a drink with Joongi and dealing with a nearby Keeper of the City, it's time to head to District Five at last! Do bring Safe Keys because there's good stuff to be found there.
Needless to say, the Barracudas aren't too thrilled to see us and we need to beat up a lot of them, starting at level 39. Eventually you'll end up in a dungeon with a healing spot and save point before diving deeper in.
Right after defeating a mini-boss wielding a chainsaw, you can find a chest that you should open as it contains the Veteran Detective's Jacket, Adachi's exclusive armor! And as you reach the end of the path, another valuable chest is in the same place as the healing spot and save point, and this one contains the Star Ride Jacket for Tomizawa!
And as we reach the end, we're just in time to rescue Lani before she's taken on the boat by Dwight, who gets pretty pissed by the girl slipping from his grasp and fights us once more!
This time, the Barracuda Kingpin is at level 41 and accompanied by three level 40 underlings, one of them with a grenade launcher that can be painful, you can use Water to dispatch that one faster.
Dwight himself is also weak to Water, as well as to Fire, and mostly retains his original moveset at first. When he gets down to about two-thirds of his health, a cutscene will play that surprisingly doesn't have a QTE, but causes some improvised weapons to be scattered in the arena for you to use. More crucially, he will then start using ¡Lanzagranadas! which, as the name implies, has him firing a quick shot with the grenade launcher that deals Fire damage. He can also summon some backup.
After defeating him, Lani is safely brought back to Yamai's place, and the man has a plan to take the party back to Japan. Best to prepare well before heading back to Revolve, I actually got to craft Ichiban's True Legendary Hero's Bat there! The Shark Fin was obtained from recycling stuff on the beach, if you're wondering.
Once we're all set, we spend the night at Revolve before heading to meet up with Yamai at the docks, and we're off to Japan by sea! But Dwight hasn't given up yet and gives chase with his men despite the shark-infested waters, leading to another boss fight against him!
The Barracuda Kingpin is now at level 44 while his six helpers are at level 43, finally a boss that matches my levels! It had been a long time!
Dwight doesn't have any new tricks, he's just stronger than he was before, but there are stage hazards to consider as falling on the back of the boat, in the striped area, will lead to extra damage and potential bleeding from a shark attack! A shark will also be "Lurking", then "closing in..." after which it will "size up its prey" and then "readies an enormous chomp!" announcing an imminent "Predator Pounce" that will damage anyone in its path.
When Dwight loses around one-third of his health a cutscene will start with two QTEs in quick succession. After that he'll call for extra backup, which he can do twice!
After this third defeat at our hands, Dwight decides it's time to cut and run once and for all, but he attracts the wrong kind of attention on the way, and thus the Barracuda ends up being shark food.
Then we can finally resume our trip to Japan, where we learn the details of Yamai's plans before he storms off! Date entrusts us with the chase and so we're off to Kamurocho, not much to do there but follow the trail of the Tabata Family's remnants. We do get into a scrap with four level 43 ex-Tabata members, but they shouldn't be trouble after you've defeated Dwight.
As we take a taxi to follow Yamai to the hospital, we finally get to hear the full story behind his patricide and escape to Hawaii, and with his heart a bit lighter, he comes along to fulfill his agreement with Date, closing this chapter.
