Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth - 94 - Kiryu Wrap-up / Ijincho Underground / Jo Amon
3After wrapping up a final few things such as getting Kiryu's final Memoirs and Zhao's Walk & Talk Finale, it's time to go conquer the Ijincho Underground! When the story directed us there, I did the first five floors of the first sector before leaving to avoid getting too overpowered so that's where I'll be picking up from. Not that there's much to say, the first two sectors are way below my level so it's a lot of smackdowns. The last two do get more interesting.
The end of Sector 3 puts you against the boss of the enemy gang, who is none other than... Utamaru?! The level 47 Geomijul Officer uses a high-tier weapons merchant moveset, including a Lightning-based Destructo Beam, and Disarm lowering his target's attack by two stages. He's weak to Fire and resists Water, overall not a very tough fight if you're appropriately leveled, much easier than Robo Michio, I'd say. After his defeat, Seonhee will spare him and he'll even be compelled to take a vacation to Dondoko Island, which is understandable.
But this is but a warm-up compared to what lies at the end of the EX Sector, a rematch with Jo Amon! But where is the music, RGG?! I can at least mod his model to not be Shin's, but I can't fix the lack of music!
The level 55 Ultimate Assassin will immediately call upon his brothers, Sango, Kazuya, and Jiro, making this a four-on-four fight!
I started by focusing on Jiro, who is weak to Gun and Fire attacks and uses Punching attacks, he can also declare a Fight Night raising everyone's Attack by two stages, you probably want to dispel that from the enemies. As he gets below 50% HP he will start unleashing the Tag Team: Double Lariat with Jo, dealing solid damage and raising both participants' Defense by one stage.
Next up, I went for Sango. He is weak to Slash attacks and uses some Gun attacks taken from Bryce, he also has a very quick Flying Knee to push you into other Amons so they'll combo you. As he gets below 50% HP, he and Jo will unleash the Tag Team: Dual Pistols which raises the pair's Agility by one stage, this is pretty dangerous, especially on Jo so you probably want to remove that buff.
Third is Kazuya! He is weak to Water but is also very evasive so you'll want to focus on Back Attacks or guaranteed hits. He uses a lot of kicks and the Tag Team: Double Dragons that raises Attack by one stage, which is dangerous.
Finally, Jo himself has strong melee attacks, including Jawbone Clutch that raises his Agility by one stage which you should regularly dispel. He can also throw grenades for Fire damage. He resists all elements so you'll need to use good old physical hits.
The real fun starts as he gets low on HP (Around 33%, perhaps?) and enters Heat Mode before reviving his three brothers with about 33% HP each and they'll unleash the Amons Assault, focusing their attacks on a single party member (Kiryu in my case, though Sango seems to have missed the memo). After that you'll want to quickly mop up the revived assassins as they are in range to use their Tag Team moves, doing the same helps. In addition, Jo will use the Komaki Hellstorm against you.
Once he's alone again, it's just a matter of finishing the job, dispel his buffs and debuff him to make the job easier.
Overall a solid, fun fight, just a bit disappointing that he uses a generic dungeon boss theme instead of his own like in the story encounter. For winning, you'll get a pair of Sacred Leather Socks and some Squid Tentacles, and if you rescued all lost Geomijul members Utamaru will give you a Shark Fin and an Ultra Booster as a bonus.
Well, that's that, only one thing left to do now.
