so, next up: the 3rd chapter of story mode, and that is God of Thunder & Earthrealm's champion in new timeline, Raiden.
Raiden is a fighting games character in the Mortal Kombat series. Being the eternal God of Thunder, Raiden has been one of the most memorable characters in the fighting game genre as well as the earliest playable Gods in the genre. He has remained a major, central character throughout his appearances, often serving as the deuteragonist of the franchise behind Liu Kang.
Raiden made his debut as one of the few original characters in the first MK game. He holds the distinction along with Scorpion and Sub-Zero, in one form or another, of appearing in every generation of Mortal Kombat games as a playable character.
Raiden is the eternal God of Thunder, protector of Earthrealm, and arguably one of the most powerful characters in all of Mortal Kombat. After the second defeat of Shinnok, he ascended to the status of Elder God. As a result of his divine nature, he possesses many supernatural abilities, such as the ability to teleport, control lightning, and fly. He is also more prone to thinking in terms of eternity rather than normal human lifespans, and has a radically different outlook on life.
Mortal Kombat 1 is an upcoming fighting game developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Games. It will be the twelfth main installment in the Mortal Kombat series, serving as both a sequel to Mortal Kombat 11 (2019) and the series' second reboot, following Mortal Kombat (2011). The game is set to be released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on September 19th, 2023.
