Motocross Mania 3 (PS2) | Random Races #1
Here's an interesting racer developed by British company Deibus Studios and published by 2K Games in April 2005 for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. This is basically what happens when you combine Road Rash with Supercross, you get Motocross Mania 3.
In fact that's what the gameplay focuses on, Road Rash style vehicular combat on dirt bikes along with a trick system that can help fill the "Mania Meter", which is a bullet time like sequence that slows gameplay in order to get another opportunity to attack the 5 other riders you race against on track. There is a checkpoint timer in the same vein as Cruis'n and Rush, go through waypoints with the help of the in-game arrow on the HUD to extend time and keep whacking riders with weapons like golf clubs, crowbars, baseball bats, and whatnot across 20 courses with different environmental elements. All the races done in this video were done on the "Challenging" difficulty even though you can get to the front easily, just try not to wipeout (which will happen a lot) and you'll do just fine. Most of the race types are either Circuit or Point-To-Point, the Circuit races can be adjusted to a set number of laps at the player's discretion. There is also a Freestyle mode where you can try to pull off the best tricks in a set environment.
Now I have never played the first two Motocross Mania games which I believe where on the original PlayStation (PS1) and made by the same developer Deibus Studios. But here is is the first video of Random Races in Motocross Mania 3 on the PS2, enjoy!
