Eine Stunde Gameplay von "Final Fantasy IX", einem Rollenspiel entwickelt und veröffentlicht von Squaresoft im Jahre 2000 (JP / USA) / 2001 (EU) für die erste Playstation mit HD-Upgrade-Neuveröffentlichungen beginnend im Jahre 2016 für Android und Windows PC so wie 2017 für die Playstation 4 und in 2019 für die Xbox One und die Nintendo Switch, hier gezeigt in der Windows PC Fassung von Steam.

Hauptcharakter des Spiels ist der junge Dieb und Mitglied der Schauspieltruppe Tantalus Zidane Tribal, welcher zu Beginn des Spiels mit seinen Schauspielkollegen in die Burgstadt Alexandria reist, um dort das Stück "Deine Taube möcht' ich sein" aufzuführen. Nichts davon ahnend, dass die Truppe eigentlich den Auftrag hat, Alexandrias Prinzessin Garnet zu entführen freuen sich Bewohner und Königin auf diese Aufführung.
Dies bildet den Auftakt zu einer Reihe von Abenteuern und atemberaubenden Verkettungen von Umständen, welche dem Spieler kaum Zeit lassen, sich vom soeben erlebten zu erholen, was für ein rundenbasiertes Rollenspiel ein Kunststück höchsten Ausmaßes ist.

"Final Fantasy IX" war das letzte Spiel der "Final Fantasy"-Hauptreihe welches von Squaresoft für die Playstation 1 veröffentlicht wurde und ist als solches ein unglaublich gelungenes Abschiedsgeschenk an diese Ära des Final Fantasy Franchises, insbesondere da es viele Thematiken und Motive der früheren "Final Fantasy"-Episoden aufgreift und diese zu einer wunderschönen Reminiszenz verknüpft und nach den eher futuristischen Vorgängern "Final Fantasy VI" ,"Final Fantasy VII" und "Final Fantasy VIII" wieder zurück zu seinen Fantasy-Wurzeln kehrt.
Einfach Alles vom Gameplay über die Grafik und den gewaltigen Umfang der seinerzeit 4 ganze PS1-Discs benötigte bis hin zu den fantastischen Kompositionen des meisterhaften Komponisten Nobou Uematsu und der grandios erzählten Story von Hironobu Sakaguchi übertrifft alles im "Final Fantasy"-Universum bisher dagewesene.
Definitiv das "Magnum Opus" von "Final Fantasy".

Protagonist of the game is the young thief and member of the theatre group Tantalus Zidane Tribal who at the beginnig of the game travels alongside his actor companions into the castle town of Alexandria to perform in the stage play "I Want To Be Your Canary". Not knowing of the actual task of the theater group to kidnap Alexandria's Princess Garnet citizens and Queen are looking forward in excitement to this stage play.
This marks the prelude to a succession of adventures and breathtaking concatenation of circumstances which hardly ever leave the player room to recover from the experience, which is an amazing trick for a turn based role playing game.

"Final Fantasy IX" was the last "Final Fantasy" mainline game that was published by Squaresoft for the first Playstation and is as such an amazingly well made parting gift to that era of the Final Fantasy franchise, especially since it takes themes and motives from former "Final Fantasy" installments and chains them together in a magnificent reminiscence and also returning to its fantasy roots after the rather futuristic predecessors "Final Fantasy VI", "Final Fantasy VII" and "Final Fantasy VIII".
Pretty much everything from gameplay over graphical prowess and the massive content that required full 4 PS1-Discs to the fantastic compositions of mastermind composer Nobou Uematsu and the epic told story by Hironobu Sakaguchi surpasses everything that existed in the "Final Fantasy" universe so far.
This is the "Magnum Opus" of "Final Fantasy".
