One Hour Of "Gun Metal", an 3rd person action shooter / plane fighting game developed by Rage Games (and also published by them in the EU for the Xbox) as well as by Majesco Sales (Xbox USA) / Zoo Digital (EU PC) / Strategy First (USA PC) in 2002 for the original Xbox and in 2003 (EU) / 2005 (USA) for PC, shown here in the Windows PC version from GOG.
In the game the player takes control of an assault mech that can transform from the mech form into a jet and vice versa on the fly and is tasked with various missions that consist of defending areas or protecting convoys and civilians as well as other similar tasks in which it oftentimes is essential to pick the right weapon for the right type of enemy to fulfill the tasks given.
It's one of those games that were doomed from the beginning by reaching "just" an average review score. And despite not being a broken mess, but also neither being something outstanding, as thus, "Gun Metal" never got any kind of sequel and the world never heard of it ever again.

Im Spiel übernimmt man die Kontrolle über einen Angriffs-Mech welcher sich umgehend aus der Mech-Form heraus in einen Jet und umgekehrt verwandeln kann und wird mit verschiedensten Aufgaben betraut vom Verteidigen bestimmter Gebiete oder dem Beschützen von Konvois und Zivilisten so wie weiteren ähnlichen Aufgaben, bei welchen die richtige Wahl der Waffen für den richtigen Gegnertypen oftmals ausschlaggebend für den Erfolg einer Mission sein kann.
Es ist eins dieser Spiele dem von Anfang an keine glückliche Zukunft beschert war, da es "nur" durchschnittliche Wertungen einfuhr. Auch wenn es kein kompletter Totalschaden war, so war es aber auch nichts Herausragendes und durch diesen Umstand bekam "Gun Metal" niemals irgend eine Art von Fortsetzung und ist heutzutage eher nur noch eine Fußnote in den Annalen der Geschichte.
