Eine Stunde Gameplay von "Final Fantasy VIII", einem Rollenspiel entwickelt und veröffentlicht von Squaresoft im Jahre 1999 für die originale Playstation, 2000 für Windows PC und in modernen Remaster-Versionen im Jahre 2019 für Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Xbox One und Windows PC so wie für Android und iOS im Jahre 2021, hier gezeigt in der originalen Playstation-Version.

Im Spiel übernimmt man die Rolle des Protagonisten Squall Leonhart, Mitglied der Militärakademie des Balamb Gardens und ein Anwärter für die sogenannte Eliteeinheit SeeD, welcher durch einen Auftrag in das von galbadianischen Truppen besetzte Timber verschlagen wird und dort auf die Widerstandskämpferin Rinoa Hertilly trifft, was den Auftakt zu einem unvorhersehbaren Abenteuer epischen Ausmaßes bildet, bei dem am Ende die Zeit selbst droht, für immer stillzustehen.

Auch wenn der 8. Teil der Serie oftmals die Fans spaltet, dem Spiel gelang seinerzeit das nicht unbeachtlichte Kunststück, aus dem Schatten seines überwältigend guten Vorgängers "Final Fantasy VII" herauszutreten und eine eigenständig und hervorragend cinematisch präsentierte und einzigartige Story zu erzählen, die man so schnell sicherlich nicht vergisst.

In the game the player takes the role of protagonist Squall Leonhart, a member of the Balamb Garden military academy and candidate for the so called elite unite of SeeD, who is brought to the city of Timber which is occupied by Galbadian forces and meets the resistance fighter Rinoa Heartilly there, which marks the start of an unpredictable adventure of epic scale in which at the end even time itself is at the stake.

Despite the 8th part of the series often being a matter of controversy among fans, at its time the game managed the quite impressive feat of coming out of the shadow of its massively good predecessor "Final Fantasy VII" on its very own and tells a a very well written, unique and cinematic presented story which won't be forgotten so soon.
