So kids, or sentive viewers are warned.
Hey hey from Krusty again.
Ready or Not came with a update on 6th of february, and the new update pulled down the difficulty a bit (nerfed the difficulty). Which is a good thing for many players struggling with the game perhaps. I also thought it were the absolutely toughest game I ever tried. Suspects reacts superfast, and able to do pixelshots fast. And the damage from each single shot were close to deadly. If unluckly you could get a headshot in first shot you got. But in most cases, it were 2 - or perhaps 3 shots to kill you.
But even thou it were tough as nails, I liked it a lot. I saw it as challenge to improve my relections, and also think strategically in alternative ways quite often. Changing my loadout to perhaps heavy armor and less doorstoppers? Or maybe change to a light armor, and have more doorstoppers, flashbangs etc.
But also decisions in the game to think strategically. What doors should I lock with a doorstopper, and what direction should I go to, position of my body when hidding behind some furniture. And what order should I check out the rooms? Sound perhaps a bit weird, when you put words behind your actions in a game. But each player does that when playing in a splitsecond. Almost without thinking.
The game after the update are still hard to complete, if you are solo, and the game are in default mode (no MODS). But I'm still a bit disappointed that the software company (VOID Interactive) behind Ready or Not had chosen.
Not so much disappointed that they wanted an easier difficulty mode. But that they haven't chosen the road many other games have, when it comes to have various difficulty modes. A game in my mind should have as minimum 3 difficulties. And better if more to choose from. Say like 4 or 6 perhaps. Or do something similar like the fps game Ground Branch. In that game, you can choose from 1 to 50 terrorists. Changes various other settings. Like time of day. And how trained the terrorists are.
Changing one old difficulty mode out with another from update to update, will always disapoint some. So I think it would be much better, to have modes that not only fits everyone, but also how you feel. One day you can feel very energetic, and top of the world. And another day perhaps a bit tirred, and just want something more relaxing and slower casual game.
I perhaps get the mindset of how the decision were made, just to have one difficulty. Ready or Not are aiming for realistic, or close to realistic Swat situations. If your suspects are easy to kill, then it's not close to real life situations. But still... As a game, I think there should be some room to meet various players with different skills. Or acknowledge that nomatter what kind of player you are, everyone can have a good or more lazy day. Even thou it's perhaps lowering the realism a bit.
So my hopes were, that in the new RoN update, you could have eg. Easy mode, Hard, Very Hard, Extreme (or whatever name they would use for that difficulty). And the last one I mentioned, could be how RoN were before the update. For the very hardcore players that are like 3 or 4 in a group, there could also perhaps be made room for an even more hardcore mode, to satisfy their needs.
Even thou I got shot from the last suspect, I think it were a bloody good game. Very intense indeed. But yeah... ofcause a shame I didn't pull it all the way home. But I get it next time ;-)
Oh yes BTW: Another thing I didn't like with the new update, that they removed the chat. Maybe not when in a group. But if you are solo (in friends mode) you can't no longer make comments in the chat field. And that's a shame. I don't use voice normally in my videos, so having some ways of commenting on situations were a good way for me to describe various things.
Regards from Krusty :-) Thanks for watching.
