The Division 2 (02.04.2024) Roosevelt Island: Gunner Stage 5 Challenges
I'm in the process of trying to get the minigun from the Gunner specialization, by completing various challenges. The Challenges spand over 5 stages in total. See it as 5 steps or levels. Each stage have typical maybe 4-6 challenges you have to complete, before that stage are done and you move on to next stage.
Now in the last 5th stage, where I have to take out some dude at the Roosevelt Island.

Description in details were, I had to destroy his armor before killing him. Seemed like I did that, but didn't get the checkmark at that challenge. I mean, isn't natural you have to destroy ones armor before you are able to kill the guy? Guess I should have aimed in the end at his legs or feet, and not his head, to be fair. Oh well... have to do all that crap all over again :-/

In the end at the White House base, I experiment a bit to get my character a better armor. You do that in either at Tinkering station located in the base you're at, or the Tinkering station you have internal so to speak... On your character when you press I for "Inventory". Then Tinkering station are located at the lower part of that screen. Or press "M" for the shortcut.

On the Tinkering station-screen, using the Recalibration window in order to transfer one items attributes to another item. When doing so, you also spend some materials in order to complete the Recalibration.
Seems like there's also an Optimisation option in there in Tinkering station. And looks like that also cost something. Not materials like in the Recalibration, but various missions you have to complete in order to earn an Optimization.

00:06:30 Haven't completed this mission on normal before. But it's a bug in D2 if you have started the mission up without completed it.

01:19:38 My current backpack had a good armor before. But by mistake, I gave it a Skill Tier. My thought were, that it could have both armor and also the Skill Tier. But no. The armor I had before, were replaced by one skill tier.
01:20:17 Entering Tinkering station with M. "Library" are step one for extracting the core attributes, attributes, or talents from items.
01:20:57 And "Tinkering" are the place where to take those extracted elements, and replacing on your chosen item. Optimization are not available for Skill Tier BTW (correct me if I'm wrong. New to this system)
01:21:21 Recalibration are done. And the backpack now has about 129K in armor, instead of 1 Skill Tier.
01:23:16 Had a taste of it with the Tinkering stuff, so I looked for item with a higher armor number.
01:24:58 Mask are now 147K instead of 80K in armor.
