San Diego 3 Railers Lionel Erie Russian Decapod action; April 6th, 2024
10Went down to the San Diego 3-Railers on April 6th, and had a good day operating my recently received Lionel Erie Russian Decapod with as close to steam era specific freight cars I could do. I have plans to but steam era freight cars later on, but for now this will make do. I also don’t have an Erie caboose to go with the engine, so I had to substitute it with a Reading caboose I already have. Engine ran good all day with no issues.
I also brought 3 of my TMCC equipped track maintenance vehicles, but didn’t find the time to operate them until the end of the day. I ran them for a lap in each direction on the blue line at maximum speed, to break them in a bit. But they are seen on a siding in 2 of the video clips.

Grace & Company 3-Bay Hopper, Atlas O ACF 33000 gallon tank cars (X2), Lionel Frisco Bulkhead Flat Car, Lionel SPFE 57’ Mechanical Reefers (X3), Lionel Producers Grain PS-2CD 4427 Hopper, Lionel Santa Fe 4-Bay Covered Hopper (3/6-Pack), Lionel Continental ACF 3-Bay Covered Hopper, MTH Canadian National 60’ Flat car, MTH Genstar Cement Company PS-2 Hopper Car, Lionel Reading Northeast style caboose.
All of the footage is in 1080p60. Some parts will be a bit dark, due to the FPS.
1st clip (00:00): ERIE 2445 starts up and rolls out the manifest freight train
2nd to 23rd clips (02:12): Manifest freight train rolls by at various points of the layout
24th clip (14:37): ERIE 2445 ties down its train and shuts down for the day
