I first played ARK in 2017.
Well, I'd struggle to define my experience at that time as "playing."
Think of it more as if I was watching stuff happen on a screen.
I have yet to beat Minecraft even now... mainly because I prefer to build and explore but that's besides the point.
And I was gonna try to get into ARK, alone, without any guides or use of Google, 7 years ago-
To give you a bit of an example as to what it was like, imagine a chunk of rock sinking to the middle of the sun.
Danger all around, can barely move, and just like, totally incapable at soring information as to what I can or should attempt to do.
That was like that but with more dinosaurs.

If you're wondering what the point of any of that was, it was supposed to just fill you in on how I've been somewhat active in this game for quite a long time now... and have never gotten past building a small 1x1 thatch hut in the middle of some giant monster demon's hunting trail.
For the longest time, I've dreamed about not just taming a raptor to make my adventuring buddy, but riding it to glorious salvation.
For a not as long time however still kinda long time without comparison, I've wanted the exact same things with a Pteradon.
I know they aren't the highest goals, but they were mine.
Now that I see myself merely out of reach of both goals, I cannot help but feel... lost, in a way.

I usually set my goals in games to be high, too high.
But with ARK, I went back into it this time with the simple goal of riding a raptor and pteradon, not really expecting to get that far.
But now, for once, I am so close.
And that's fantastic because I've almost reached my ARK goal ^^
But at the same time, I'm left with the rest of the island.
Sure taming a raptor and pteradon is awesome, but that's just the beginning.
There's much, much bigger dinosaurs to tame and ride.
I still gotta befriend a Spinosaurus.
I still gotta find the rest of the explorer notes.
I still gotta explore caves, reach the peaks of mountains, and traverse the dense jungles and swamps.
I still gotta beat ARK.

So, that only means one thing...
