France is about to vote for its new president. But the battle between politicians is raging. In the dying industrial city of Amiens, the far right party Front National and the Communists are trying everything they can to catch the vote of people recently fired by Whirlpool. "Vote for us: we are the workers party" claims the Front National. Who will the French vote for?

The French city of Amiens became recently a very important piece on the chess game going on between the two opponents in competition to become the new French president. Le Pen and Macron are trying to catch the final votes. But who are the French going to vote for?
Wilfred de Bruijn explores in this documentary what is happening in Amiens. Not just what the politicians have to say, but most of all what the people have to say. The story of their lives, crushed when they heard that they were going to lose their jobs. Are the politicians really hearing what the people have to say?
What is behind the rise of the Front National? Who are its supporters? Who are its voters? Why does this far right party suddenly become so attractive to some of the French? Wilfred does what he does best: he makes people talk, and tell us their stories.
The Dutch journalist Wilfred de Bruijn lives in France for years, and has already published the travel series Looking for France on our sister channel VPRO World Stories.
