I made the entire map my base by connecting all the important points of interest with pipes that could move my loot to anywhere, unfortunately though, there were 3 big issues that we had to overcome to get the job done. I started out by building my main base in roughly the centre of all the places I wanted to connect and then built a bunch of different smaller bases across the map. One at the gas station for recycling, one in the snow for farming nodes, one at the outpost for the safezone, and one on the coast near the fishing village and oil rig so we could safely depo all our good loot from our rig runs. But of course, with any ambitious project there are gonna be issues. Issue number 1, pipes only have a maximum length of 30 metres before they have to be plugged into something. So to fix this, I used combiners every 30 metres to extend the feed. Issue number 2, using combiners meant they would decay if they weren’t in tool cupboard range so then I had to build TCs the entire length of the pipe. And issue number 3 is that combiners are really easy to break with a melee tool, so I would also have to put the combiners inside the tool cupboards to prevent griefing. Once all the kinks were ironed out, we had a working industrial system that spanned across the entire map and meant I could safely move loot back to my base from anywhere, and, for everyone who subscribes from this video, I’ll lay another 4 and a half inches of pipe.
