During the October of 2011, AMD launched what would be as they described the "industry's first native 8 core desktop processor", the FX 8120. This CPU retailed at just over $200 and £170 in the US and UK respectively, and for CPU intensive applications, multi-tasking and video rendering it made for a pretty good and affordable solution.

This CPU wasn't without a bit of controversy though and people often debated as to whether it was indeed a true octa core, so today we're going to be taking a look back at this 5 year old FX processor which launched as part of the "Bulldozer" family, and discussing whether or not it's still worth buying in 2016.

We've paired our FX 8120 with a GTX 760 and 8GB of DDR3 Ram, along with Windows 10 Pro and a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 motherboard.

The games tested include Battlefield 1, Fallout 4 and Far Cry 4. Today's gameplay during discussion is Crysis.

Thanks for watching :)
