Why are Final Fantasy logos so good? A design case study
In this episode we see Final Fantasy logos explained - we’re taking a look at the evolution of the Final Fantasy logo design and the design principles that made it a timeless centerpiece of Final Fantasy’s identity. We cover the early packaging for Famicom and Nes and the differences between PAL, NTSC and Japanese, European and America releases before the games arrived at a more cohesive logo style incorporating Runic Condensed and the artwork of Yoshitaka Amano. We briefly cover the Final Fantasy logo’s for each mainline game before concluding and comparing Final Fantasy’s consistent uniform design with other Japanese anthologies such as Tekken and Metal Gear Solid.
