Olaf vs. Drake

No, there's very clearly SEVERAL harbors around here... oh, wait, no, you don't mean literally the Ports, I suppose.

Leave it to the design team to give the first scenario to feature the use of naval units to Drake, I suppose.

But now the snowshoe is on the other foot! Surely Olaf can shine where Drake disappointed me before, his general lack of applicability to the task at hand was not at all satisfactory! How'm I supposed to specifically exploit the fact that it's said Olaf hates rain if Drake's CO Power doesn't actually cause rain?!

Well, the question this time is how am I meant to use the snow against an opponent... who apparently doesn't really mind it any more than anyone else (who isn't Olaf) ...when this place is so full of roads?! They must be really big on infrastructure maintenance behind the scenes around here, because absolutely nobody has any trouble moving around even during a blizzard.

At least Olaf's forces get the usual boost to their effectiveness while his Power is active.

Besides that, there's really not a whole lot to be said about this encounter... Drake's most effective tools are his sea units... that... you just flat out don't need to bother with, more or less. You can get to the northern shore of his side of the harbor a LITTLE faster with a Lander than an APC... but that won't actually get you to the goal. And anything with treads can cover that distance without assistance anyway.

Besides, why give Drake's Subs any reason to exist whatsoever? If you do, then you'll have to build Cruisers, and at that point we've got a whole unnecessary naval battle going on.

I sincerely doubt Drake can muster the economic mastery required to build a Battleship... so, at least we won't have to worry about that...

The rest is just a matter of time and technique, beating back his invaders as they turn to defenders as they turn to nothing before the iron heel of mighty Olaf!

... ... ...this is possibly the only time in the entire game that the old guy's going to get to take center stage like this... except his long stint as the most basic of enemies to be crushed.

Poor Olaf.

Let's... just let him have his moment a little longer, okay?
