Not much left to this chapter besides Tendaris having to break out the ye olde X shenanigans to survive against a group of Speargarden enemies because lulzs I didn't heal him to full health.

The only other major task to deal with is killing William. He moves if anyone's in his attack range, but not Wester thankfully. He does have Glacies which can be very dangerous if it triggers since he has 30 res. Not that many people can eat an extra 30 damage on top of what he already can dish out...unless your name's Ahmed. Then he can just bait in William without a care in the world, heh. Once William's been baited in, send in someone that can either tank a hit if Glacies triggers or can use a brave weapon to kill him in two hits like Crixus does here (Except he crits on the first hit so haha to that).

Once William's dead, the music changes. Similar to what Cassandra did in chapter 26 when either the gates are opened or Cyrus attacks, Wester switches from standing still to full on aggro moving rage...and he's even more deadly in combat than William for a few reasons.

First off, he's got Tome Range +1 for one of his personal skills, meaning all of his weapons are effectively 1-3 range, making it difficult to attack and not get countered in return.

Secondly, he has Glacies and nearly as much res as William. That alone wouldn't be so much of an issue...were it not for the third reason.

That third reason lies with him wielding Windlance's regalia, Arcgale. Strong like all other regalia while granting +5 skl and +10 spd, bringing him up to 35 skill and 39 speed, meaning he is doubling damn near everyone in the game.

If that wasn't bad enough, Arcgale grants Wester the Rightful Lord skill. That 35% chance he has to trigger Glacies? Just add another 10% on to that...and not a multiplicative boost, but rather a flat 10 points, meaning Glacies has a 45% chance to trigger. There's maybe two people in the entire game that can facetank that kind of pain...Isabelle due to Dawncaller access and massive resistance...or Cyrus because of his Wary Fighter skill. Albert might be able to get away with it too thanks to Nihil and getting a res buff of some kind to help mitigate some of the damage.

Ahmed for me proves just why I like fielding Darius in every map. He could sit just outside Wester's range and do a suicide rush in to deliver a cheap shot. He even crits Wester to remove nearly half of his health.

My plan from there was to have Helga further weaken him via Volsunga, then use some kind of brave weapon user to have two chances to deal the killing blow. Helga decided she wasn't going to let it get that far and pulled a crit out of her own out to finish Wester off. He drops Arcgale, but this is one I likely won't be making use of. Shom's not in my endgame lineup and I use Shay more for staffbot support than any major combat at this point.

The end of chapter cutscenes have a giant oh crap storm that gets aimed squarely at Holtmeier...namely Jakka's mother & sis. Things are about to get very serious...and challenging cause the next chapter is incredibly tough. We'll see that one next time.
