One of Dheginsea's right hand men, Gareth, takes the stage. Gareth is quite the unit when it comes to the physical side of things with very high HP/Str/Def stats. This makes him one of the biggest damage dealing units in the series. Is what I would say if he had any Spd and accuracy to work with... With the low accuracy from his below average Skl and just barely average Lck, he struggles to hit many units in the series consistently. And because he gets doubled by literally everyone in the series, he doesn't get many opportunities to attack often either. The Spd also makes him fold completely against any magic unit with Rexbolt since his Res is quite low as well. Furthermore, in a format with many of the mastery skills one-shotting no matter what, his high Physical Def and HP doesn't do much for him. He does still deal with the units with mastery skills that aren't a guarantee one-shot like Astra or Impale, but even some of them have a chance purely because of laguz and magic weapons. Speaking of mastery skills, his mastery skill, Ire, is one of the worst as well since he can't proc it from range and it only triples damage. And with his low Skl, he has a very low chance to proc it as well. I will say that damage of Ire isn't too much of an issue for Gareth just because of how high his Str is, it's really just the fact that it has a low proc rate for him. Overall, Gareth doesn't have too much to work with and doesn't have a personal skill like many of the other units have leaving him in the dust.

The unit with the higher base speed will initiate first. (If unit has Shade or Stillness they will always choose who goes first). If both units have the same speed, the unit whose video it is will go first.

For weapons, the unit who is faster chooses the weapon they want the unit they are attacking gets to choose a weapon to counter them with. The unit who attacks first, goes through all the possible weapon combinations and picks whatever situation would give them the best chance at victory. After the initial turn, the only time a unit can change their weapon is on their turn.
