Just a quick reminder that all the clips used here belong to their respective owners with the exception of some of my MLP crossover art I used as segment cutaways (because I didn’t have any other ones to use), so Hasbro owns MLP:FiM, Gotōge wrote Demon Slayer, and I claim no ownership of either other than for entertainment purposes (meaning making videos for people to enjoy).

So regarding what I said before the last segment, I talked about how it’d be slightly different as opposed to the canon. To get why some of the dialogue is the way that it was, here’s a list of the differences between the canon and for this video:
1. Inosuke and Zenitsu met each other before meeting Tanjiro. This is because Zenitsu actually went to Final Selection a week later after the one Tanjiro went to, during which he meets Inosuke.

2. Since they don’t all meet during the mission to Kyogai’s mansion, Tanjiro remained unaware of Zenitsu and Inosuke’s existence. Giyu himself was also unaware of this until Mount Natagumo.

3. Relating to 2, all three of them went in at different points of time and encountered different people. Shinobu herself ran into both of them first before meeting Tanjiro, so when she inadvertently brought it up, both Giyu and Tanjiro were surprised to find out that there were other mizunotos that were alive in the mountain for the mission. This led Shinobu to take Tanjiro for questioning instead of a trial.

4. A Kasugai crow informed most of the other hashira about Tanjiro being taken in for questioning at their headquarters, so none of them were under the assumption of deciding his life for his crimes. They did, however, have qualms about letting him and his sister live because of their unique case, least of which were Obanai and Sanemi, who proceeded to belittle Tanjiro for believing that his own sister, who was a demon, could ever help humans.

5. The bullying both Inosuke and Zenitsu saw did not sit well with either of them, so they rushed to defend Tanjiro for trying to cure his sister and helping the Demon Slayer Corp because they knew what being alone without family is like and wouldn’t wish it upon Tanjiro to go through.

Side note: I know the thing is called Final Selection, but I put in Final Exam by mistake without knowing it wasn’t called that, but I’d like to imaging that Tanjiro sometimes calls it that just because.
