Dragon Warrior I & II GBC - Dragon Warrior II - Part 8: The Thunder Sword and Loto Armour
1I start by showing off my new gear and stats, because the last part was worth skipping because it was all grinding.
Head to the tail end of the continent in the SE and head N to find the Sea Cave. Use The Moon Shard in front to gain access.
Use StepGuard to avoid taking damage from the lava in here.
To the N you can nab some Gold in a chest then head S of the stairs and W and then N after the darkness for a MysticNut chest. From here head S and down the stairs. Ignore the Chest to the S as it's just a poison trap.
Head W and talk to the NPC by the stairs before heading down them.
Head S and take the W stairs for a Wizard Ring.
From here you want to head to the NW corner, using StepGuard to cross the lava and head down more stairs (I think StepGuard is per floor).
Open the door and ignore the Trap Chest, but take the second for a STRSeed and head S to the SW corner. Head into the new room with Lava to the E and head to the NW corner of it for Magic Armour. Head E of the chest and you'll find a group of stairs, ignore the one that is straight E of the chest and take the one just to the south of it for an Amulet.
Head SW around some wall and then take the stairs in the NW corner.
Follow the path to some NPCs and initiate a battle with 2 EvilClowns. One Explodet should do, they're regular encounters here. Head behind them for the EvlStatue and warp out.
Back in Beran head to the Priest with the Warp and take the Warp you'll find an AGISeed in the NE corner on the floor and an old man resides down the stairs. Leave the room from the S and talk to the Imp like monster before jumping off the Tower and heading W to some red damaging tiles. Use the EvlStatue on the tile E of the NW most one to open up The Cave to Rhone.
For now, head to the stairs E of the start and head E on this floor for the Life Seal and warp back.
Head W to Osterfair's Island and follow the Coastline all the way N past a Shrine and all along the main continent until you find another Shrine to the W on an Island. You'll be told where to use the EvlStatue (where we already have). Head S along the E coast and just past the S Shrine head W to a one tile Shrine on an Island, head down all the stairs to nab the Rubiss Charm which dispels illusions.
Heal up and head back to the Cave South of Rhone.
Head N to some stairs heading up on your E side. In the next room take the third split N and head N for some stairs. Head W for stairs and W again and take the Chest for a Magic Helm.
Head back two floors and head E and then N for a chest with some G.
Head all the way N until you see some Water and head SW for some stairs. Head further S and then W for some G and an EvilShield. Head back to the N Water and head S for the S Water. From there head E and ignore the stairs. Make your way SE and nab the chest in a room for a SlotToken.
Head further E from here and you'll come to a chest with the Loto Armour.
Head back to the N Water and head E for some stairs and follow to a room with stones scattered. Just NW of the stairs fall down the hole and then head all the way W and to the SW corner for another hole where you'll find the Thunder Sword on the floor. From here follow a series of pits by heading to the other side of the room you're until you land in a room with damaging tiles and gravestones head up just E. Make your way back to the room with three splits, but take the S split on the third split to end up by the S Water. Head to the N Water and head back to the room with the rocks and the pit we fell down earlier. There's a specific path to follow, and I get it wrong first time (second was a delayed input). Head S 2 W 2 S 4 E 4 and then S to the stairs.
Finally you're heading through some darkness, and the encounters are some of the toughest, especially the Green Dragons which can take you out quickly in a group of 4. Take the following dark areas. E , NW, NE, NE, N, NW, N, E, E for some stairs. You'll be in an icy area.
Head NE and across some bridges for Rhone Shrine. You can heal and save here. This is where you'll want to do any final grinding before taking on the final dungeon.
