Atlas attacks the party right after the Bresha Ruins Intro Cutscene. He introduces a new type of damage called wound damage. In addition to hurting you, it also lowers your Maximum HP by a bit. Good thing I can't heal yet... Thankfully the cinematic cutscenes stagger him and make it easy to finish the fight. After the fight you get access to the Moogle Scan ability which allows me to pick up the invisible treasures and artifacts that are floating around everywhere. You also unlock the ability to gain monster companions. I wont be using them, but I actually didn't know if the game would let me not use them or not. Now I know you don't need to use them.
There are also some DLC weapons I can buy from the shop after this. They're not that much stronger than the ones I could normally buy, but I'm not going to use them unless i need to.

I also plan to do some crystarium grinding so I can unlock Medic (hopefully).
