Continuing on from the previous part, I head back to the dorm.
Before going to bed, I talk to Mitsuru and Yukari, and have a look around the dorm. (There isn't much to see.)
A the protagonist sleeps, we see another resident of the dorm talk to Mitsuru before heading outside to fight something.
This person is a guy named Akihiko.
Moving onto the next day at school, we get our first question in class. (We also overhear some students talking about a student not coming to school.)
From time to time in this game you will get a situation where you have to answer a question in class.
If you get the answer right, your charm will go up, which is very useful!
This first one just requires paying attention to what the teacher was saying.
So the answer to give this time is Utsubo Kubota.
After school is over, we return to the dorm. (We see some characters in the background while walking to the dorm that will later have social links.)
It is here where we meet a new character, Shuji Ikutsuki.
He's the chairman of the board at our school, and seems to love bad puns.
He welcomes us to the dorm, and also tells us who else lives here. (Akihiko's full name is revealed to be Akihiko Sanada.)
Fast foward to when the protagonist is sleeping, and we see things are not as they seem!
Shuji, Mitsuru and Yukari all monitor the protagonist on a big screen while he sleeps.
We then get a cutscene where some guy has a very bad time when everyone else around him turns into coffins!
Getting back to the others, Shuji explains how the dark hour works. (The guy in the cutscene experienced the dark hour.)
The dark hour seems to be a mysterious hour that happens every night at midnight.
The sky goes a dark green, and everyone turns into coffins.
Anyone who doesn't turn into a coffin becomes a target for monsters, which are called shadows.
Seeing as the protagonist and the other characters are awake during this hour, we learn that they are interested in our potential.
Potential for what? Well we will get to that later on!
Getting back to the protagonist, we enter the velvet room for the first time in our dreams.
It is here where we meet Igor, and his assistant, Elizabeth.
He says it has been years since he last had a guest, and tells us that only those that have signed a contract can enter this room. (The contract we signed in the first part was the contract he mentions.)
Igor tells us that we will soon awaken to a special ability, and gives us a key for us to visit the velvet room again at some point.
Moving onto the next day, we have a brief chat with Junpei, listen to a teacher in class to increase our academics, and then walk home with Junpei after school.
We then get another scene where everyone is monitoring the protagonist as he sleeps.
As this is going on, Akihiko calls in to say that a big shadow is chasing him back to the dorm.
After the others check on the returning Akihiko, everyone gets ready to prepare for the shadow breaking in.
Yukari then wakes us up to try to get us out of there before it gets there.
But when we get to the roof, we are greeted by a giant shadow that attacks us.
Putting a gun to her head, Yukari tries to do something, but fails.
Looking at the gun on the ground when it gets knocked out of her hand, the protagonist picks it up, puts it to his head, and says "Persona" to summon Orpheus.
After our first persona destroys the shadow in a cutscene, it goes back to it's original form.
But we aren't out of the woods yet, as more shadows attack!
But this is the start of the game, so they are easy enough to take out.
The protagonist then passes out on the spot.
We then meet Igor again in the velvet room, who goes on to explain how persona and social links work.
We then eventually wake up in a hospital bed, with Yukari telling us that we have been asleep for a whole week!
Feeling bad for not telling us anything, she decides to tell us a bit about herself by talking about how her father died years ago. (She also promises to explain what the whole shadow thing is all about later on.)
So with some character devolopment and plot advanced in this part, what will happen next? Find out in the next part!
