Eine Stunde Gameplay von "NieR:Automata", einem Action Adventure entwickelt von Platinum Games und veröffentlicht von Square Enix im Jahre 2017 für Playstation 4 und Windows PC mit späteren Veröffentlichungen für Xbox One (2018) so wie Nintendo Switch (2022), hier gezeigt in der Playstation 4-Version.
Die Prämisse des Spiels dreht sich darum, dass das Leben der Menschen auf der Erde aufgrund einer Invasion von außerirdischen Roboterwesen ein jähes Ende gefunden hat und die Menscheit seitdem mit nur noch ein paar Menschen auf einer geheimen Basis auf dem Mond lebt, während diese eine Androidenarmee damit beschäftigt, einen Stellvertreterkrieg auf der Erde gegen die außerirdischen Invasoren zu führen. Im Verlaufe des Spiels entdeckt man als einige dieser Androiden die ganze Wahrheit hinter diesem Krieg.
Das Spiel spielt im selben Universum wie der Vorgänger "NieR", der die Vergangenheit der Story behandelt.

The premise of the game revolves around the fact that the life of the human species on Planet Earth has come to an abrupt stop due to an invasion of alien robot beings and humanity has fled to a secret base on the Moon with only a handful of survivors, while using an army of androids to fight a proxy war for them against the alien invaders. In the course of the game the player uncovers the whole truth behind this war as some of these androids.
The game is set in the same universe as its preecessor "NieR", which is set in the same universe and tells the past of the story.
