17Still grinding on textures. Today was refining more colors and hues of the skin color under belly fur and cleaning up my fur details surface shader that I used on Bunnie Rabbot. Shadows forms are way different so I had to start off several tedious wrap projection placements for the fur masking flows to match more of a Hedgehog head layout as opposed to a bunny. I only got finished with about 50% of the head but at least the hardest part, the face seems to be well wrapped up and looking close to my Sonic Movie look references that I am following. Oh I could not decide if Shadows 3rd central spline should have red or not, but at the time of checking a single vote on a Game Jolt poll told me to go ahead and put some red on it. Shadow normally doesnt have a 3rd central head spine/quill but if his proportions will match Sonics its likely there will need to be 3 spines up in there to match, hence the coloration confusion on what to do. First time for everything I suppose, pushing forward.
If you are a CC4 user you may wanna follow this whole process just to keep up with some success stories, missteps and backtracks. There will be plenty of mistakes made I assure you, but the point is taking advantage of these pre-rigged humanoids, putting your own new bones and appendages on them and still retaining CC4s built in facial rigging if you are like me, a character modeler/texturer with no animation chops whatsoever.
