Starcraft 2 LotV Campaign - Forbidden Weapon Brutal - No upgraded units, no spear of adun
This is part of a playthrough of the Starcraft2 Legacy of the void campaign without using the spear of adun, unit upgrades such as Dragoons, on the Brutal difficulty along with completing all bonus objectives for an extra challenge.
This is without using the Master's Archive, because it won't allow me to unpick my upgraded units.
So this was my first very interesting mission. This mission is not a pushover, and if you don't have dark templar from the Shakuras mission, I don't know how you can manage this one. You really want to push as fast as possible, while losing as few units as you can.
You use dark templars as much as you can: You kill the first cannon, then you can clear out the first few enemy groups until you reach the base. I then bait the base's army with a stalker shot and lead them out of their detecton to kill them with DTs.
Beyond that point the enemy starts to reinforce group of units with oracles, making it harder. You can snipe them with stalkers and blink away and keep your DTs do their dirty work.
Past the second base, the group of units before the ramp has no detection, so they are dark templar fodder. However, once you engage them, warp prism will come out and if they can deploy next to cannons it's pretty much game over as you'll never have the firepower to destroy it all before the beam reaches it's target.
As you can notice, the end is a bit chaotic. I could possibly retreat and defend my base, but I don't think i'd have the time to beat the the beam... So i just rush for it: all you need to do is to reach the beacon, not kill the enemy. Plus the last push has quite the formidable army with 3x wrathwalkers which one or two shots units. So I have to reach it before my base falls.
All of this needs to be done with a few DTs and a little support army. You must always keep units and also preferably some DTs at your main to protect yourself from attacks because past a certain group, you won't run into the enemy attacks anymore.
I realize I missed out on one solarite... But since it's really, really easy to grab (No units to fight, just a 1sec detour right before the 2nd base), I thought it wasn't worth to replay the mission for it.
Also, sorry for the delayed sound, I don't know how to fix it without replaying the whole mission... which I don't really want to :P
