This is my play through of Starcraft Remastered Brood War with some random commentary. Sometimes you won't even notice I'm there.

Protoss Mission 7 - The Insurgent

With both the Uraj and Khalis in their possession, the Executor succeeded in their mission to retrieve the keys to unlocking the power contained beneath the Xel'Naga temple on Shakuras. What awaited their return was not a warm welcome, but a dire warning of an ongoing insurgence led by none other than their former ally, Judicator Aldaris.

Apparently, Conclave loyalists found some reason or an opening to start a revolt while the Executor's forces were away. And now the Protoss are once again at risk of becoming divided in two between high templars and dark templars even though the common threat that is the Zerg that continues to encroach upon Shakuras. Before things escalate into full-out war, Raszagal orders the Executor to immediately act and put an end to the insurgency by taking down Aldaris.

While the high templars Aldaris commanded included the mighty archons that would give them a powerful advantage, the dark templars were also capable of joining together to become dark archons capable of channeling unique powers that would be more than a match for their high templar counterparts.

After a fierce battle, the insurgency is quelled and Aldaris is defeated. As Zeratul and Artanis begin their questioning of Aldaris for why he would start an uprising when the Protoss were readying themselves for a final battle against the Zerg on Shakuras. Aldaris' convictions that siding with Kerrigan was a mistake have remained unchanged even though her cooperation had given Zeratul and Artanis a reason to give her a second chance. That alone did some seem reason enough to start a revolt though.

Before the interrogation could continue any longer, and Aldaris could reveal what dark secret he had discovered, Kerrigan hastily jumps in and slays the prisoner, forever sealing whatever secret he knew. Angered by the interference into a Protoss matter and by how suspicious her behavior was, Zeratul and Artanis had Kerrigan thrown out but the Queen of Blades seemed to care not at all about losing the trust of powerful allies that and there would never be a third chance to redeem herself.
