This is my play through of Starcraft Remastered Brood War with some random commentary. Sometimes you won't even notice I'm there.

Terran Mission 3 - Ruins of Tarsonis

Following the successful raid of the Dylarian Shipyards that secured the UED fleet additional powerful battlecruisers, new information pointed to a hidden weapon on Tarsonis. It turns out to be none other than the Psi Disruptor that Mengsk was searching for while he was still an insurgent fighting to overthrow the Confederacy.

There is irony in the fact that the disruptor that could interfere with Zerg communications lay on the same planet that Mengsk had ravaged by the Zerg by placing Psi Emitters that lured the Zerg there. Given that Mengsk would want his hands on that weapon, Duran suggests to Admiral Dugalle that the UED should destroy the Psi Disruptor lest it should fall into the hands of Mengsk who could use it to interfere with the UED's plans to capture and control the young Overmind growing on Char.

Vice Admiral sees things differently and see the Psi Disruptor as the key to helping the UED achieve its goal of capturing the Overmind. However, Duran, who seemingly has grown bold with the contributions he's made to the UED's success so far, decided to taunt Stukov by implying that he did not have enough faith in the UED's military might to destroy the Zerg without such a device.

Thinking he's come to the right decision Dugalle issues orders that the Psi Disruptor be destroyed and has Duran personally take the lead in the mission since he seems to be wanting to prove his worth really badly.

Once on Tarsonis, the scanners detect several Zerg hives surrounding the area around the Psi Disruptor. Perhaps it was because there were no Cerebrates present to lead the Zerg, but Duran's suspicion that the Zerg would be harmless once their hive was destroyed proved to be true. Once the Zerg were pacified, the path to the Psi Disruptor is cleared and Duran proceeds to blow it up... until ghosts sent directly under the orders of Vice Admiral Stukov that they would be dissembling the Psi Disruptor.

Stukov's decision to overturn Dugalle's orders came as a surprise to Duran, but he coolly brushes it off and returns to base having accomplished his mission for all intents and purposes.
