Dragon ball has been a massive part of my life ever since I saw a few episodes of kai on Nicktoons one cold night in 2009. The moment I saw these big dudes punching and screaming at each other in climatic and bombastic fights, I couldn't get enough of it. It was like crack for my 8 year old brain, I was hooked. Naturally, in my pursuit of anything and everything dragon ball related, I eventually gravitated to the plethora of dragon ball video games. I think I tried pretty much any game I could get my hands on. I can’t tell you how many hours I poured into games like Budokai 3, the Raging Blast games, and especially Xenoverse. Due to the nature of the show, a lot of these games end up being either 2d or 3d fighters. Which isn't a bad thing, as I said I spent an ungodly amount of hours on each of these, but looking back on it now, I find that I hold the few games that broke that mold in higher regard. Games like Attack of the Sayains on DS and the Legacy of Goku games on GBA stick out in my mind, mostly because there so different than a majority of dragon ball games I had played at the time. (BTW you should totally play Attack of the Sayains if you haven't the game is sick k k thx). While there's no shortage of dragon ball games nowadays, especially with stand out titles like Fighterz and Kakarot, they all feel… familiar I guess is the best way to put it. I think that's why when Dragon Ball The Breakers was announced, it instantly stood out to me as something to keep my eye on. Dragon ball The Breakers was one of my favorite games of last year. Unfortunately some recent changes have ruined the experience for me and a lot of people. This is The Frustrating State of Dragon Ball: The Breakers.
