TURNING GANONDORF INTO A GANON-DORK - TLoZ Tears of the Kingdom Playthrough Episode 39
Here it is! We’re finally ready to get down to the deepest depths to face off against Ganondorf, the girlfriend stealing bastard.
We start the episode with a little warm up in the Floating Coliseum, which happens to have every Lynel in the game, all ready to throw down. The reward for this is totally worth it, and in the end I’m glad that I have a place to go to reliably harvest Lynel parts.
We also quickly stop by the Temple of Time to pick up my reward for completing all of the shrines. It’s… interesting.
And with the final bits and bobs out of the way, we head to the Chasm below Hyrule Castle and jump in. The goal is to keep going deeper and deeper until there is nowhere else to go, and that’s where Ganon will be.
This, of course, means that the place is crawling with monsters, all of whom deal gloom damage in addition to regular damage. It’s a good thing I’m so wildly overconfident when it comes to this game, or that could have gone really badly. But ultimately, even the army that Ganon summons at the end of our downward journey doesn’t pose much of a threat.
This fight with Ganon is much longer than the one in Breath of the Wild, and, in my opinion, much harder. That being said, I still didn’t find this fight particularly hard, only that Breath of the Wild’s is much easier than this one.
This fight had more parts, more surprises, and more challenging moves, but I still found it to be very manageable. This is good because I’ve never been able to handle hard bosses very well. Although, I did manage Dettlaff pretty well, so maybe I’m finally getting a little better.
Either way, in the end, Ganon is defeated. Spoilers, I know, but how else did you think this was going to end?
The events that follow the defeat of Ganon are wonderful and I won’t do them justice by describing them here. I will say that I felt satisfied with it, and that’s all that matters. Me and how I feel only.
So if you like light/dark motifs, epic battles, and/or seeing old friends, then this episode of the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is for you!
